In trying to envision what the future holds for their intellectually or developmentally disabled young adults, Village Vision is working together to answer these questions: Where would they live? Who would care for them? Would they have friends? Would they be a productive member in their community? Most importantly, how would they survive once their parents were no longer around to take care of them?
Charleston area citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities have limited access to sustainable housing in the community.
Village Vision is working together with the greater Charleston area leaders to answer these pending issues. Village Vision's mission is to provide a safe and friendly environment where individuals can live and work at their fullest potential. Village Vision will be a place that encourages our residents to live, work and be productive citizens.
The community will include access to transportation, life skills training and a community center.
